Whipple’s Disease; An Overlooked Diagnosis

Whipple disease is a rare multisystem inflammatory disease. Because fewer than 1000 reported cases have been described, clinical experience with this disorder sparse. We are reporting case of 46-year-old man who presented fever, weight loss, and polyarthralgia for 2 months, 1 month diarrhea. The patient was thoroughly investigated collagen diseases COVID-19, no definite diagnosis. A therapeutic trial by immunosuppressive drugs provided partial remission followed marked rebound the symptoms. His occult blood in stool positive subsequent upper endoscopy proximal small intestinal biopsies showed pathological features Whipple’s dramatic improvement following treatment ceftriaxone trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole.
